Asus provides a sneak peak into the ROG Strix Scar 18 and Zephyrus M16; Here's everything we learnt about these next-gen laptops
As we wait for the arrival of Asus' first NVIDIA RTX 4090 and Intel 13th Gen laptops for gamers, India Today Gaming got a look at the ROG Strix Scar 18 and ROG Zephyrus M16. You can also check it out here.
Asus revealed a plethora of new products from their ROG and Zephyrus line-up at the CES 2023 held earlier in January this year. Asus India today took the opportunity of introducing some of their fresh products from the CES 2023 to a selected audience. India Today Gaming thus got a chance at a sneak-peak at the ROG Strix Scar 18, and the ROG Zephyrus M16. Here’s more.
ROG Strix Scar 18
The ROG Strix Scar 18 is the first 18-inch ROG laptop featuring the Nebula Display. Yes, it is as huge as it sounds, but apparently no bigger in size than the 17- inch laptops from the Strix Scar series. The difference of 1-inch has apparently been adjusted into the size of the display, without affecting the overall dimensions of the laptop. This reportedly adds to the immersivity displayed by the laptop.
We tried our hands at CS:GO on this beast of a system, and no the laptop did not give in in the 20 minutes that we went at it. The cooling system really did seem as powerful as they made it sound. While the system was warming up, it did not seem overheated.
Let’s also take note of the fact that the ROG Strix Scar 18 features the “latest-gen technology” out there in the industry right now. That would be the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and the 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX. The power and efficiency that this combination comes packed with definitely had a role to play in not making the laptop look overworked at all.
There have been significant changes to the design as well. The vents of the cooling system have been redesigned along with the chassis for more efficiency. The keyboard features a soft texture with the color “smoking out” across the board towards the display.

ROG Zephyrus M16
We got to look at another RTX 4090, 13th Gen i9 laptop- the ROG Zephyrus M16. While we did not get a hands on on this laptop, we got to see the fun that it comes packed with. This is the first 16 inch laptop to feature the AnimMe Matrix display. You can customize the animation as well and keep it running as a fun personalisation.
The Zephyrus M16 also features the Virtual Pet (OMNI). It’s a fun animation that is displayed on your screen, that you can play games with, pet, take for a stroll and just be friends with. Here’s a look at the ROG Zephyrus M16.

Availability and Price
These laptops are expected to land in the Indian market for purchase sometime in quarter 2 this year. Though no launch date or price range has yet been announced, we can expect more information to be revealed in March. As for their price, they are sure to be more than the previous-gens from the same series.
