Callisto Protocol is all set for its 2022 release; all you need to know

There’s finally another update on The Callisto Protocol. Creator Glen A. Schofield says that the game has entered its “finish and polish” stage as the designs are starting to come together. The game is scheduled for a 2022 release, and as per this update, it is probably on track with the schedule. The game which created quite the buzz as a survival horror game was much anticipated. Callisto Protocol game release details

The Callisto Protocol is being developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton. Glen A. Schofield, who is known for his work as the creator of the Dead Space series, founded Striking Distance, and is now its CEO. In an interview with IGN, he revealed that Striking Distance was created in 2019 under the umbrella of PUBG Studios, with the storyline of The Callisto Protocol in the background. As a result, it had to be fitted into the PUBG storyline, but more on that later.

The trailer was launched back in December 2020, during The Game Awards, and it was successful in giving the creeps. The audience even compared it to Dead Space, given the spiritual similarity and disfigured aliens. You can watch the trailer right here.

What do we know about The Callisto Protocol till now?

The official website solely dedicated to the game informs that it is a single-player, third-person survival horror (and not a battle royale). It is set 300 years in the future, that is 2030, inside the PUBG universe. “The game challenges players to escape the maximum-security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. A blend of horror, action and immersive storytelling, the game aims to set a new bar for horror in interactive entertainment.” The game is set for release in 2022, only for next-gen consoles, which is PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

What is the latest update?

It came from the official Twitter handle of Schofield, on 11th April. He suggests that the game is in the final stage of its development procedure. He also informs us that more updates will be shared in the future.
