Summer Game Fest kickoff event showcases new trailers; details

As promised by the hype trailer and previous statements, the show outlined some of the most awaited games coming. The lineup includes Elden Ring, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Metal Slug Tactics, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, and Lost Ark. Hollywood Star Jeff Goldblum also took to the virtual stage to announce Jurassic World: Evolution 2. The event also showcased the debut gameplay trailer for Evil Dead: The Game along with the formal launch of Prime Matter, the game publishing house from Koch Media. As previously reported, Koch Media outlined 12 new games that it plans to launch in coming years.

Activision also shared information about Season 4 for Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops and Warzone. Other announcements include Vampire the Masquerade: Blood Hunt, Salt, and Sacrifice for PS5 and PC. Game developer InnerSloth also shared information around a new Among Us mode with a teaser for a new map. Summer Game Fest kickoff live stream also shared details around Two Point Campus, Solar Ash, and a new map in Escape from Tarkov. Third-person MOBA, Smite is also getting a new Stranger Things DLC with Eleven, The Mind Flayer, and Hopper.

Summer Game Fest organizer and presenter Geoff Keighley also revealed a new game development studio, Deviation Games working on a new PlayStation exclusive title. Nintendo Switch users will also get Sky: Children of Light on June 29. This long list concludes with a new trailer for Tales of Arise, Endless Dungeon, and House of Ashes.

The event also shared information about new content for existing titles including Overwatch 2, and Fall Guys including new skins and more. Overwatch 2 will get new skins for Baptiste and Sombra while Fall Guys will get the skin of 2B from Nier: Automata. Among all the titles, the event's highlight is likely Elden Ring with January 21, 2022, launch date. Revisiting the rest of the release dates, House of Ashes will launch on October 22, and Jurassic World: Evolution 2, Solar Ash, and Sable will release later this year.
