Looking to free up space or take a break from League of Legends? Follow this step-by-step guide to fully uninstall the game from your PC and remove all leftover files.

If you want to open some free space or take a break from League of Legends, then probably un-installing it will be your best bet. As time passed, the League Client and regular patch updates consume much of the storage. However, uninstalling is not as simple as clicking on the uninstall option in the Riot Client.

Here are the steps through which you can completely remove League of Legends from your computer.

Steps to Remove League of Legends:

  1. Open Start Menu
  2. Click on the Start button at the bottom left of the screen.
  3. Open Control Panel or Settings
  4. You can search for "Control Panel" in the search bar or go through to Settings -> Apps according to your choice.
  5. Click on 'Uninstall a Program'
  6. In Control Panel, click on Programs then Uninstall a Program.
  7. Locate League of Legends
  8. Scroll down the programs installed list and pick League of Legends.
  9. Right click and Uninstall
  10. Right click the League of Legends icon, then select Uninstall.
  11. Confirm in the Riot Client
  12. A confirmation window should appear by the Riot Client to make sure that you would like to uninstall. Click Uninstall.
  13. Clean up after yourself
  14. To free up any additional disk space, remove the remaining League-related files or folders you find scattered about on your computer in the game's file directory.

Once you've followed these steps, League of Legends should now be uninstalled on your PC.

If you experience troubles trying to remove League of Legends, it probably is a system malfunction. Simply restart your computer and try again. If you plan to reinstall the game later, restarting your computer will probably work with your installation procedure.
