Hell is Us Unveils Limited-Time Steam Demo Ahead of September Launch

To promote their new release, Hell is Us, Rogue Factor in partnership with publisher Nacon have made a limited-time demo available for free. Taking place only on Steam during these two weeks, on June 2-16, 2025, PC players can sample the game's impressive world before it is released to the public on September 4, 2025 .

In the country of Hadea, Hell is Us shows the quest of Rémi, a former United Nations peacekeeper, to understand his background as Hollow Walkers, beings haunting the land, causing trouble. The introduction to the game is part of the demo which allows people to play it for around 90 minutes to get to know the mechanics and setting.

Specifically, the game does away with things like mini-maps and markers on the map, so players need to use surroundings and NPC conversations to guide their progress. Making courts these ways encourages players to really involve themselves in the game. The main battles are hand-to-hand and players wield swords, spears and axes to face the otherworldly monsters. Rémi also has a drone, KAPI which helps him solve puzzles and acts as a distractor for enemies.

There are three difficulty levels in the demo, so both new players and more experienced ones can try it out . Because of some technical reasons, the demo can only be played on PC at the moment, but the full game will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on the same day. 

Hell is Us is designed with Unreal Engine 5 and is directed by Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, known best for his Deus Ex games. The aesthetics and plot of the game embrace Annihilation and the Southern Reach Trilogy, so players can expect a world filled with mystery and intrigue .

Anyone wanting to dive into the spooky environment of Hadea can get the demo from the game’s official page on Steam. The addition of the game early gives people the ability to try out its mechanics and take a glance at its story, ahead of its original launch day in September.
