Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero June Update: New Fighter, Ranked Reset & More

  • India Today Gaming
  • June 25, 2025 (UPDATED: June 25, 2025 15:32 IST)

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero's June 2025 update adds Shallot, gameplay tweaks, ranked reset, character reworks, and new battle system changes.

A major update has arrived for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, introducing Shallot as the latest DLC character. Originally from Dragon Ball Legends, Shallot now steps into the 3D arena brawler with unique moves and animations. His addition pushes the roster beyond 200 playable fighters, cementing the game’s reputation for delivering one of the most expensive character lineups in the Dragon Ball franchise.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero June Update: Game Mode and Balance Adjustments

The update officially available from June 26, Season Pass holders get early access starting June 23

This update introduces major changes across multiple game modes:

  • DP Battles now make power disparities more visible, offering a greater challenge when facing high-tier opponents.

  • Single Battles have removed damage scaling based on DP and now give every character the same health, making for a fairer fight.

  • Ranked Matches implement a new seasonal reset system. Players are moved to lower tiers based on previous ranks. A new win streak bonus mechanic rewards players who secure multiple victories in a row with higher point multipliers.

  • Custom Battle Mode has been enhanced with new 2D cutscenes and character dialogue, giving matches a stronger narrative flair.

Combat System Refinements

The patch also improves the moment-to-moment combat:

Dash attacks can now chain more smoothly into follow-up actions when not fully charged. Smash Ki Blasts that were previously unblockable can now be countered with a Vanish, and their tracking has been reduced. Movement tools like Dragon Dash, Quick Ascent, and Quick Descent are now faster and allow smoother transitions into Step-In. Skills that trigger Sparking! Mode or restore Ki now temporarily reduces defense, balancing their benefits.

Character Tweaks and Power Adjustments

Key fighters have received targeted balance changes:

  • Turles benefits from a stronger boost and Ki regeneration via the Fruit of the Tree of Might.

  • Gohan (Super Hero) across various forms has reduced health, and transformations now demand more Skill Stock but offer some healing.

  • Dr. Gero and Android 19 now trigger Sparking. Mode when absorbing blasts, but no longer receives their previous stat buffs.

Additional Improvements, Music Additions, & Rank Refresh

Other updates include:

  • Better handling of rush attacks against large characters.

  • Improved hit detection for flying kicks.

  • Two new background tracks from Dragon Ball Legends enhance the in-game soundtrack.

Players can now claim previous Season rewards, as the Ranked system enters a new competitive phase with updated mechanics and progression.
