Fortnite Blitz Royale Leak Reveals 5-Minute BR Mode & Weekly Themes

A new leak has given insight into a new limited-time mode coming to Fortnite Blitz Royale and will take place at the beginning of Chapter 5 Season 3. Intended to be played within a shorter time frame, Blitz Royale is set to have its matches with a play duration of around five minutes based on fast interaction, ease of movement, and the number of participants to be limited to a certain extent, allegedly about 32 players in a single match. This reduction in size is meant to deliver the feel of a battle royale game with a size that matches the needs of players who want to play fast matches but do not want to lose the intensity that has made Fortnite famous.

 

 

It has been disclosed by leakers that Blitz Royale will also be having weekly drops in content until the first stint is done. One of them is Week 1 of exotic weapons, Week 2 PR Fueled by Avatar: The Last Airbender, Week 3 of Bad Bosses, and Week 4 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles melee event, according to insiders. It is planned that these rotating themes will help maintain some variety in gameplay and foster the wish to replicate it with new associated mechanics.

What is more, the mode can include roguelike aspects, however it is not explained how this will work. These would be in the form of randomized loot, progressive game difficulty, between matches development, where a new stage of depth gets added to the Fortnite gameplay formula. Interestingly, ranked system will not be available at launch since Epic Games is said to be focusing on stability and quality matchmaking in the initial release.
