Marvel Rivals Introduces Sunny Skins for Rocket & Squirrel Girl

Marvel Rivals is going headfirst into summer fun with two fun new hero skins in Season 2. As part of the newly announced Sunshine Collection, Rocket Raccoon and Squirrel Girl are receiving bright, beach-inspired makeovers that add a splash of fun and flair to the battlefield. These sunny skins arrive just as fans are still abuzz with the new Emma Frost introduction and that of the free Wolverine Patch skin, a testament that the game is far from slowing down anytime soon.

Launch Details

Sunshine Raccoon and Sunshine Squirrel will be available in the shop within the game beginning May 9, 2025, at 2 AM UTC. Pricing will be expected to conform to standard rates:

• 1,400 Units for the solo skin.

• 1,600 Units for the full bundle (includes skin, emote, banner, and spray).

The new cosmetics were announced by the official Marvel Rivals X account (formerly Twitter), where the Sunshine Raccoon and Sunshine Squirrel skins went viral immediately, gaining over 10,000 likes in a matter of hours from the announcement.

Rocket Raccoon's Tropical Twist

Rocket swaps his high-tech equipment for a relaxed, light brown safari suit, complete with a floral bucket hat. In a wonderful touch, he's also buckled with a belt full of bright yellow rubber ducks, bringing a dash of humour to his appearance.

Squirrel Girl's Summer Splash

Squirrel Girl steals the show with one of the most detailed skins in the game. Her outfit explodes with floral patterns and beachy accessories, capturing the spirit of summer vacation. Even her trusty squirrel sidekick joins in, sporting a green sundress and cooling off with ice cream in the artwork. While the developers haven’t confirmed any backstory or lore tie-ins, the release coincides with a teased Swimsuit Special series, hinting at more summer-themed skins on the horizon.

With its colourful prints and summery theme, the Sunshine Collection is a nice respite from the traditional fighting-hub tension of Marvel Rivals. With Season 2's rollouts of new material, these skins show that things can be a little more optimistic going forward, which could foreshadow greater playful surprises coming our way shortly.
