Supercell removes Archer Queen and Mortis, shocking Squad Busters players.
Supercell has made an announcement that has shocked the community: two of the Epic characters dear to the players' hearts will be permanently removed. The players have flown into a frenzy, with some trying to claw their way through to secure their progress. As a warning, merge these characters if you have them-they will not compensate for unmerged ones once the removal goes live.
Archer Queen and Mortis to be Removed from Squad Busters: What Will Change?
Archer Queen and Mortis will be permanently removed from Squad Busters on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The effective date will see Archer Queen and Mortis totally absent from chests, shop offers, and player line-ups. Now, in May 2025, Squad Busters will be providing compensation for these Squaddies. Players will receive a Squaddie of the evolution tier that is highest among the removed characters. For instance, in the event, there is an Ultimate Archer Queen, a random Ultimate Squaddie will be received.
Details of Compensation
Essentially, there will be a new in-game currency to encourage player progress, considering the value of the converted Baby forms to achieve flexibility out of randomness in Squaddie replacements. Alongside this, the owners of skins for Archer Queen or Mortis shall be compensated in Style Tickets.
Interestingly, Squad Busters devs have stated they're not being removed in their current forms. This strongly indicates that somewhere down the road, we could see reimagined versions of Archer Queen and Mortis return, although official details about this have not been revealed yet.
Further Character Removals
In another twist, Squad Busters announced on Monday that two other characters, Barbarian King and Royale King, will also be removed. These characters will be compensated as well. While understandably shocking for the community, especially because of the Archer Queen's prowess in attacks and Mortis' versatility, there has been no clear reason offered for this by Supercell. Major changes shouldn't be far from sight, and while the changes loom before the players, merging Archer Queen, Mortis, Barbarian King, and Royale King has now become imperative.
Using the compensation system effectively and preparing for the May update could enable a great foundation for victory in the new route that Squad Busters is taking.
