Valorant Replay System Arrives in Patch 11.06 – Everything You Need to Know

  • May 30, 2025 (UPDATED: May 30, 2025 23:26 IST)

Valorant introduces replays, Unreal Engine 5, and ranked map changes in major upcoming patches. Here’s all you need to know about the new features.

After so many years of players wanting it, Riot is finally adding what everyone was asking for: a built-in replay system. This comes with Patch 11.6, expected by September, and will let people rewatch their competitive matches to learn from mistakes or just watch highlights again. No longer needing OBS or any other third-party tools is a big relief. Though this feature will first only be in ranked mode, with Riot saying they’ll add it to other game modes later on.

Replay System: A Game-Changer for Players

At the start, our replay system will only be in competitive matches, but it is designed to be used later in different game types. We anticipate the replay system to be a key resource for players trying to improve their strategies, find errors, and become better overall.

Engine Upgrade to Unreal 5 is Coming Soon

Another major upgrade is Valorant’s move to Unreal Engine 5, arriving in Patch 11.02 near the end of July. While Riot tells us that the way the game plays won’t change too much, the new engine means better graphics, improved performance and a game that can grow more in future. You may want to free up space, though the download will be bigger than usual. As a small gift for everyone, there’s also a free gun buddy for anyone who logs in on patch day.

Better Tools to Fight Smurfs and Bad Behaviour

Smurfing and account sharing have always been a problem in Valorant, and now Riot is taking bigger steps. Soon, players will need multi-factor login, which will make it easier for Riot to know who’s playing. There’s also going to be a behaviour dashboard that tells you your current standing, any warnings you got, and what punishments you might get if you keep misbehaving.

Here’s What’s Coming and When:

  • Patch 11.0 – New maps now in ranked right away (out now)

  • Patch 11.02 – Unreal Engine 5 + free gun buddy (late July)

  • Patch 11.6 – Replays added (coming in September)
