Wuthering Waves 2.3 Livestream Reveals New Zones, Bosses, and Combat Features

The 2.3 update introduces a new feature called Tidal Festivities. This acts as a central page where players can track anniversary events, rewards, and challenges. It helps make everything more accessible and easier to follow during the event period.

New Event Zones

Several themed areas will be available in the update. "Gifts of Grand Celebration" unlocks on May 23, offering special login rewards and event bonuses. "Cube, Cubic, and Cubie" is a puzzle-style combat arena that supports both solo and co-op play. "Cubie Derby" and its warmup track bring fast-paced racing gameplay with exclusive skins and resources to earn.

"It’s Carnevale Time" transforms Ragunna into a lively festival area filled with mini-games and special drops. The "Gilded Nightmarket" lets players trade event tokens for valuable rewards. Another event, "Beyond the Waves: Rinascita", brings back the city of Rinascita for exploration-focused content.

New Bosses

The update adds four new Phantom Echo bosses. These include Phantom: Crownless, Nightmare Crownless, Nimbus Wraith, and the unexpected Chest Mimic. Each brings its own style and challenges.

Two new Tactical Hologram bosses, Fleurdelys and Lorelei, are also included. These timed boss fights focus on team coordination and advanced combat strategy.

Combat System Changes

Boss fights no longer have cooldown timers. Players can retry any boss or nightmare challenge immediately after collecting rewards. This allows for more efficient farming and practice.

A new Echo Aspect system adds custom glide and flight animations. Players can now personalize their characters’ movement effects. The Modifier system gives players the ability to change an Echo’s primary stat after it has been rolled, adding more control over builds.

Performance and Visual Upgrades

Graphics and performance are getting a boost. The game now supports ray tracing and 120 FPS on more devices, including select AMD and Intel GPUs. Mobile updates will be smaller and faster to download. An in-game glossary now shows definitions when you hover over key terms, making the game easier to understand for everyone.
