Apex Legends: Here's the new season's patch notes

The spotlight may be on the new legend and map changes, but there's a slew of balance adjustments to delve into if you're one to dissect the intricacies of the game. From Crypto's buffs to fresh gameplay mechanics, this season of Apex offers plenty to explore beyond the surface.

Alter brings a fresh dynamic to the games as the latest legend, wielding an ability kit centered on her tactical move, Void Passage. With this skill, Alter can carve a portal through surfaces up to 20 meters deep, enabling both horizontal and vertical movement for anyone who traverses it. She further enhances her utility with her passive ability, Gift from the Rift, granting her the power to remotely extract an item from a death box. Finally, her ultimate, Void Nexus, empowers her and her squadmates to phase back to a predetermined regroup point she established earlier.

The Broken Moon map is undergoing a significant transformation with a major update that alters numerous points of interest (POIs), as well as the skybox, vegetation, wildlife, and even the game's lore. The highlight of these changes is the introduction of the new Quarantine Zone POI, which replaces the old Promenade. However, this update encompasses more than just the replacement of one location.

New POIs introduced in the Broken Moon update include: Quarantine Zone, Breaker Wharf, Space Port, Cliff Side, Solar Pods, Underpass, and Experimental Labs.

In the latest buffs and nerfs cycle, Crypto emerges as the standout winner, receiving significant upgrades to drone speed and handling, extended drone scan persistence, and reduced cooldown times. Conversely, Bloodhound faces a nerf following their dominant performance in the ALGS Split One Playoffs, with their ultimate cooldown time increasing from three minutes to four, although they receive some minor compensatory buffs through upgrades.

As for general changes, the Skullpiercer attachment is entirely removed from the loot pool, while the Wingman exits the care package with adjustments to hipfire accuracy and the inability to equip extended mags. Additionally, the Devotion enters the care package with a damage buff and introduces a unique "reverse hipfire" recoil pattern that tightens the longer it's hipfired.
