Black Ops 6: How To Enable Boating Racing
Here's everything you need to know about the Boat Racing Easter Egg in Black Ops 6!
A brand-new minigame has just arrived in Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, adding a fast-paced race against time, friends, and even… floating zombie corpses? Yep! Now, players can jump into toy boats and speed through the waters of Terminus Island for unique rewards like free Perks, rare weapons, and more. But how do you access this boat race challenge?
Enabling the Boat Race
To start, you’ll need to find three toy boats scattered across Terminus. Each toy boat can only be activated every five rounds, so there’s a bit of a cooldown between races. Here’s where to find each boat and how to get the race started:

Toy Boat Location #1
Castle Rock Island (top right on the map): From the GobbleGum Machine, swing to the right side of the island, head into the shallow waters, and dive straight down to locate the toy boat. -
Toy Boat Location #2
Crab Island (bottom of the map): Behind the Armor Wall-Buy, swim down while hugging the right wall, and you’ll spot the boat ready for activation. -
Toy Boat Location #3
Temple Island (top left on the map): Starting from the Gun Wall-Buy, turn left and walk toward the water at a slight diagonal angle, dive down, and keep left to locate the third boat.
Look for a flashing red light on each boat; this means it’s ready for action! Remember, only one boat is accessible every five rounds, giving you a maximum of three races per game.

How to Master the Boat Race
Once you interact with a boat’s red light, you’ll find yourself in a remote-controlled toy boat with a five-second countdown. Use your WASD keys (or analog sticks) to steer, with controls to speed up, slow down, or even reverse:
- Accelerate: R2/RT/Left-click
- Slow Down/Reverse: L2/LT/Right-click
- Speed Boost: Activate by pressing in L3 when hitting Essence canisters.
The best way to edge out your friends or beat the clock is to grab these Essence canisters scattered around the course. They’ll give you a speed boost, though you’ll lose some steering control, so keep an eye out for zombie corpses or tentacles—they’ll knock you off track if you aren’t careful!
Rewards for Winning the Boat Race
Depending on how quickly you beat the 3-minute time trial, you’ll earn all sorts of rewards:
- Essence and Salvage
- Rarity upgrades for weapons
- Perk-a-Colas for that extra edge
