Crafting is a huge deal for Minecraft, but the Mojang people have actually made things much more interesting through the recent 1.21 Tricky Trials update, especially with the addition of this new block—the Crafter. It is here to make crafting easier, but getting it might be tricky for new players. Worry not! This guide will walk you through everything about crafting the Crafter.
What You Will Need to Craft a Crafter
Before we go into crafting, there are a few fundamental items you will need. Here is your shopping list:
- 2 x Redstone Dust
- 5 x Iron Ingots
- 1 x Dropper
- 1 x Crafting Table
Getting Redstone Dust
Redstone Dust is one of the most versatile materials in the game and you will need two of them. Redstone Dust - Dig Deep for This
Digging Redstone Ores in the Woodland or Jungle Pyramids will reward you with Redstone Dust. With each Redstone Ore block dropping 3-4 pieces of Redstone Dust, you'll be set within a few minutes of digging. Simply take a pickaxe and bring it along.
Smelting Iron Ingots
You're going to need a lot of iron for tools and even weapons. An Iron Ingot is easy enough to craft with a basic crafting table. The recipe is a simple one: four Iron Nuggets make up an ingot.
Then there's Iron Ingots. While you can't mine Iron Ingots, you can dig up Iron Ore that you'll smelt in a furnace eventually to obtain those shiny ingots. In truth, Iron Ore isn't too difficult to find early in the game, but you do need a stone pickaxe to mine it. Make one now if you don't have one yet-made using three cobblestones and two sticks.
Making the Dropper
The Dropper is a neat block which can make moving things around a lot easier. In order to craft it, you will need six cobblestones and one Redstone Dust at a Crafting Table.

The Crafting Table
Now, to make a Crafter, you will need the old good Crafting Table. This is a foundation of crafting in Minecraft, so if you don't already have one, craft it using four Wooden Planks—you should be easily gathering these by chopping down some trees.
Crafting the Crafter
Now that you have gathered all your materials, it is time to craft the Crafter! Open up your crafting menu and put all the materials in the following pattern:
Boom! Now you have a Crafter. Now you are ready to push the limits of your crafting game!
