Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry to introduce new player onboarding features, login rewards and a chance to unlock 150 heirloom shards
To celebrate the 4 year anniversary, Apex Legends will be bringing back the Mirage Voyage POI to all three maps in rotation for Season 16.
Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry has been revealed by Respawn Entertainment. This Season will celebrate the four-year anniversary of the battle royale game. Not only are the developers gearing up to celebrate four years of Apex, but they’ve also come up with new features to onboard new players to Apex Legends.
There are also login rewards coming with Apex Legends Revelry that will allow players to unlock Crypto and Ash. Speaking of rewards, there are also 150 heirloom shards up for grabs in the upcoming Anniversary collection event. Check out what Apex Legends Season 16 has to offer to new and current players.
Apex Legends Orientation Matches
There will be a new video for players that are coming to play Apex Legends for the first time. This video is designed to introduce them to the Outlands and how the battle royale works in Apex Legends.
First-time players will get into Orientation Matches when they first begin playing the game. These matches will get familiarised with the world of Apex, its weapons, abilities, map and everything in between.
How it works
Developers explained that there will be 16 teams of bots in a match with up to 4 squads, comprised of new players. New players can also team up with their friends to help them out with the orientation matches. Players have to win a game, finish in the top 5 a couple of times or likewise to qualify out of the orientation matches and head to the regular battle royale modes queue.
The developers also confirmed that new players will be entering matches filled with bots so as to allow them to get them up to speed with the pace of Apex matches. Respawn also revealed that these bots will be more skilled as players move towards the ending stages of a match so as to provide a more challenging experience.
There are also going to be welcome challenges for new players and old players to complete that will reward them with an Apex 101 badge.
Apex Legends Login Rewards
There will be login rewards coming for all Apex players when Season 16 launches on Valentine’s Day. These login rewards will be available for two weeks during Apex Legends Revelry.
Players simply have to log in from February 14 to February 21, and this will automatically unlock Crypto as a playable Legend. There will also be a thematic pack that will contain an item for Crypto. Logging in from February 21-28 will unlock Ash as a playable character with a themed pack.
Mirage Voyage is back
To celebrate the 4 year anniversary, Apex Legends will be bringing back the Mirage Voyage POI to all three maps in rotation (World's Edge, Broken Moon and Storm Point) for Season 16. Players will get to see all 3 maps flooded with decorations to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Apex Legends.
Anniversary Collection event
There will be 24 themed unlockable skins for this event and a community-created reward track. Completion of this event will unlock 150 heirloom shards, allowing players to unlock an heirloom of their choice.
