God of War TV series on Amazon Prime Video is officially happening and fans are already asking for Christopher Judge to play Kratos
As soon as the news came out, fans started expressing their desire to see Christopher Judge play Kratos in the God of War TV series.
God of War TV series is finally going ahead at Amazon Prime Video. The series will be co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios in association with PlayStation Productions. The series will be based on the iconic God of War video games which revolve around Kratos, who is the titular God of War.
God of War TV series on Amazon Prime Video
While work on the series can be dated back to March, the project has seen the official green light now, as reported by Deadline. God of War Ragnarok was the latest video game to come out and it was nominated for Game of the Year at the Game Awards 2022. It serves as the sequel to God of War (2018) which won the Game of the Year when it came out. It’s a highly-acclaimed video game franchise and it is now set to make its way to the TV series medium.
This upcoming God of War TV series will be written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the duo known for working on Iron Man and The Expanse. Rafe Judkins will be the showrunner, best known for his work as the showrunner for The Wheel of Time and producing Agents of Shield TV series. He has also served as a writer for the Uncharted movie.

Santa Monica Studio’s Studio Creative Director, Cory Barlog, will also be a part of the TV series and he’ll serve as the executive producer for the show.
“We are so proud and excited to be working with our friends at Amazon Studios and our partners at PlayStation Productions to adapt this beautiful and heartbreaking game into a premium live-action series,” said Katherine Pope, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios.“

Christopher Judge, who has been voicing Kratos since God of War 4, recently won the Best Performance accolade for God of War Ragnarok. Since the announcement of the series, God of War fans have been asking for Christopher Judge to play Kratos and it looks like Judge is on board with that idea as well. He retweeted an article on Twitter about God of War fans asking for Christopher Judge’s involvement in the TV series.

He’s not the only actor eager to be a part of this big project. Sunny Suljic, who voices Atreus (son of Kratos) also tweeted about the series, indicating that he’s interested to play Atreus. Suljic wrote, “I swear to god if I don’t get booked for this” referring to the news about the God of War TV series.
