Horizon Call of the Mountain launch date, price and availability revealed; Guerrilla Games confirms it as a launch title for PSVR 2
Developer Guerrilla Games has just revealed the launch details, price, and availability of the upcoming spin-off from its Horizon franchise- Call of the Mountain. Here are all the details you need.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain is now a confirmed launch title for the upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset. The news came yesterday via the developers of the Horizon franchise Guerilla Games. Here’s more information on the game, Horizon: Call of the Mountain, its launch details, availability, and other details.
About Horizon: Call of the Mountain
Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a spin-off in the Horizon game series from Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. The first installment from the series is Horizon: Zero Dawn from 2017. The second installment, Horizon: Forbidden West, launched earlier this year as a PlayStation Exclusive to critical acclaim. It is now one of the contenders for the title of Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. The first two games harps on the theme of a planet, our very own Earth in a certain future, on the verge of destruction. Our protagonist is Aloy, a young girl on a journey of self-discovery, who goes against all odds, trying to save it. The latest installment revealed how her connection with the planet is deeper than she thought, making it even more vital for her to set things right.
Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a spin-off set in this universe. We’ll get to explore the world overrun by machines from Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, once again, only this time, in VR. However, Guerrilla Games informs that we’ll have a new hero in this game. A former Shadow Carja Warrior by the name of Ryas will be our playable character in Call of the Mountain. As for the setting- ‘Sundom’ faces a new threat, and it is up to our hero Ryas to investigate, in exchange for his freedom. He has at his disposal his expertise in climbing and archery and all the help that he can gather. This means that we will come across characters from the series that we already are familiar with, including Aloy herself.
Pricing and Availability
Horizon Call of the Mountain has been created exclusively as a launch title for the PS VR 2. It is therefore launching alongside the PS VR 2, on the 22nd of February, 2023. However, the game is now available for pre-orders on the PlayStation Store- as a stand-alone game, as well as a bundle along with the PS VR 2. The bundled game is priced at $599.99 (about Rs. 49,000) in which the PS VR 2 itself costs close to Rs 45,000. The game alone is however, originally priced at Rs 4,999.

At this point, it is important to mention that the PS VR 2 will launch first in the US. However, if you are in UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, or Luxemburg, you can pre-register for the PS VR 2, and of course Horizon Call of the Mountain as well. We still aren’t sure when pre-registrations for the PS VR 2 will open in India. You also need to own a PlayStation 5 to be able to pre-register yourself for the PS VR 2. So, with the ongoing supply shortage of this latest-gen console, where interested candidates are literally vying to lay their hands on one, we don’t think the PS VR 2 will be made available in India any time soon.
