MLBB Women's tournament at SEA Games 2023 becomes highest viewed female esports event ever

The recently concluded MLBB Women's tournament at SEA Games 2023 has become the highest-viewed female esports event ever.

The 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Games for MLBB Women at Cambodia has officially concluded with Indonesia clinching gold, the tournament has also thrashed viewership records and became the highest-viewed female esports tournament ever. According to the latest report by Esports Charts, the tournament shattered all records and recorded a peak viewership of 1.37 million. Previously, the highest-watched female esports event was also an MLBB tournament named MLBB Women's Invitational 2022. 

It is important to note that eight out of the top 10 highest-watched female esports events are MLBB tournaments. The craze of MLBB tournaments is definitely at its peak and the numbers too reflect a similar story. The 32nd edition of the SEA Games had multiple esports titles featured in it. The MLBB women's tournament has officially ended and the teams that got the podium finish were Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Indonesia signed the iconic roster of the Bigetron Era which won the Gold medal at the event.

A total of six regions competed in the MLBB Women's tournament at the Southeast Asian Games 2023. The regions were Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. The overall standings of the tournament are as follows -

  • 3rd Place - Malaysia 
  • 4th Place - Vietnam 
  • 5th Place - Cambodia 
  • 6th Place - Laos

It's great to see that female esports events are getting massive support from the fans out there. The Southeast Asian region has always embraced female esports athletes and this tournament has been a prime example of it. Apart from SEA, the North American region has also supported the growth of female esports tournaments.
