Amazon Games to publish the next Tomb Raider game which will be built on Unreal Engine 5

Once again, it will be a single-player, narrative-driven adventure featuring Lara Croft’s ongoing journey.

The next Tomb Raider game will be published by Amazon Games. An announcement for the next Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics was made earlier this year and now we know who’ll be publishing the next Lara Croft adventure.

Crystal Dynamics said back in April that the next Tomb Raider game will be made in Unreal Engine 5. The studio did a reboot of the iconic series back in 2013 and the upcoming Tomb Raider game will be the fourth title since the reboot.

"Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics today announced they have reached an agreement under which Crystal Dynamics will develop a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally," as announced in the press release

Once again, it will be a single-player, narrative-driven adventure featuring Lara Croft’s ongoing journey.

"It includes all the elements that have made Tomb Raider one of the most revered franchises in gaming, giving players control of the confident and multidimensional hero Lara Croft in an environment that rewards exploration and creative pathfinding, with mind-bending puzzles to solve, and a wide variety of enemies to face and overcome,” reads the press release.

This upcoming title has been dubbed the “most expansive Tomb Raider game to date” by Crystal Dynamics.

Amazon Games vice president Christoph Hartmann spoke about Tomb Raider and said that it is one of the most beloved IPs in entertainment history. Hartmann added that Amazon is “incredibly excited about collaborating with the talented and visionary Crystal Dynamics team to bring the next chapter of Lara Croft's saga to players around the world."
