Back 4 Blood won't get new content anymore- announces devs Turtle Rock Studios; They are now working on a new AAA title

Turtle Rock Studios has announced that they’ll be ending support for the zombie shooter Back 4 Blood. “This phase of our war against the Ridden now comes to a close.”- wrote Turtle Rock in their official press release from February. However, the game that released about a year and a half ago will continue to be playable. Here’s all you need to know. 

Turtle Rocks ends development for Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood developers Turtle Rock Studios announced that they’ll be shutting down content creation for the game. Along with this, they’ve also announced that they are now working on “another game”. Therefore, due to the lack of a team large enough to be working on both Back 4 Blood content and the new game, they choose to focus on the latter. They say, “it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back in the lab, and get to work on the next big thing.”

Regardless, Back 4 Blood will continue to be playable, and isn’t exactly shutting down. As of now, the game is available on PlayStation via PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, along with Xbox through Game Pass. The developers also mention that they’ll continue to be available on various social media platforms to interact with the Back 4 Blood players. 

The news therefore implies that the game will not be getting any DLCs or expansions henceforth. The game that launched in October 2021, has had three expansions since then- Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm, and River of Blood.
