CD Projekt Red, the developer for the much anticipated, upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 has just shared a new announcement. As per the announcement, the company has delayed its plans to share information about the DLC and story expansion. Earlier, the company was set to share this information right before the launch of the game. However, now, the company will outline future DLC and story expansion details after the release of the game. For some context, CD Projekt Red is all set to finally launch the game on December 10 after multiple delays. Cyberpunk 2077 DLC reveal pushed back, details

The company stated in an earnings call that the change came after the final delay in the launch. Adam Kicinski, the Joint-CEO and President for CD Projekt Red also issued a statement regarding the change. Kicinski stated, “The initial plan was to do it before release, but after the recent delay, we decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects. So, after release.” In the past, the company has promised that Cyberpunk 2077 will get content that is comparable to The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 got two story expansions amounts to 30 hours of additional gameplay and 16 unique DLC elements.

The company also stated that the multiplayer game is still set to come sometime “in 2022”. This is in line with the initial reports about the release. CD Projekt Red is hoping that it will share some concrete information around the multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077 and upcoming titles “in 1 next year”. Talking more about the multiplayer mode, the company stated that it is not really a part of the game. Instead, it will be its own “triple-A” release. The company is treating this as a standalone product with “separate dedicated production”.

Xbox and PlayStation cross-save details out

Finally, CD Projekt Red also shared some information regarding the cross-save system on Cyberpunk 2077. Players on PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One X will be able to carry on to the next-gen. The company also shared the steps that the players need to take to ensure that they can transfer the saves to PS5 or Xbox Series X and Series S. Looking at the steps, PlayStation 4 users can either connect to PlayStation Plus account and upload the saves, transfer the data over a LAN cable or Wi-Fi, or use external storage to move the saves.

Xbox users don’t need to take any manual steps as Smart Delivery will take care of things. Though, users do need to ensure that they have connected to the internet so that the system uploads the saved games to the cloud. Otherwise, they can use the “System network transfer” option to transfer data to the Xbox Series X or Series S from Xbox One over the same network.
