God of War Ragnarök becomes second-highest-rated new game of 2022, behind Elden Ring

God of War Ragnarok’s rating on Metacritic effectively makes it the top-rated Sony-published PS5 game so far.

God of War Ragnarok has just become the second-highest-rate game of 2022. As the embargo for God of War Ragnarok lifted, the reviews have poured in and Sony’s PlayStation exclusive has managed to secure astonishing ratings. At the time of writing, God of War had 94 Metascore, second only to Elden Ring which tops the ranking with 96 Metascore. 

God of War Ragnarok’s rating effectively makes it the top-rated Sony-published PS5 game so far, ahead of Hades (93 Metascore) and Demon’s Souls, which has a 92 score on Metacritic. FromSoftware’s Elden Ring remains the top-rated PS5 game so far.

The sequel to God of War (2018) was originally planned for a release last year but it got delayed. Sony delayed the game to 2022 as they wanted to help developer Santa Monica Studio create “a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing” of its team.”

God of War Ragnarok leaks and spoilers

God of War Ragnarok is releasing on November 9, and gamers can download God of War Ragnarok ahead of its release, to dive right into the action when it arrives. Sony’s flagship IP has once again managed to impress, despite the early setbacks faced in recent weeks. There have been several spoilers and leaks making the rounds on the internet. Moreover, some retailers began selling God of War Ragnarok 10 days before its eventual release, which only increased the frequency of spoilers making the rounds on the internet.
