IO Interactive (IOI) has just launched the March patch for its latest AAA video game title, Hitman 3. As part of this patch release, the game publisher and developer also shared the release notes for the new update. IOI has already shared most of the details in the past including the new Seasons of Sin. It also shared information around the new seasonal event in the game, the new Elusive Target, and all the location-specific changes. Besides, IOI also announced Hitman 3 Free Starter Pack which allows anyone to play the first (Dubai) mission for free. According to the announcement post, IOI stated that the 3.5GB March patch update is available on all supported platforms. This patch brings the version of the game up to 3.20 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, S, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia, and Nintendo Switch. As reported in the recent past, the highlight of the patch is likely the arrival of “Seasons of Sin”. This is a new “premium expansion” that will be split across 7 parts. The update brings Act 1 of this expansion called Greed which includes a three-stage Escalation called “The Greed Enumeration”. This takes the players back to Dubai and includes new sin-themed rewards.
The patch also brings a new Seasonal event called “Berlin Egg Hunt” where players need to head to an exclusive event at “Club Hölle”. This event will be available till April 12 and it features “a seasonal twist” to Berlin with new items, decor, and graffiti. IOI is renaming the release road-map naming to match with the “Seasons of Sins” and the first season is set to conclude on May 10. This post also teases the next Elusive Target called “The Collector” at the Dartmoor location. The game developer will launch this new contract on April 9, and it will be available till April 19.
We also get several improvements including unlocked frame rates on Xbox consoles, Requiem packs, better visual fidelity, and more. Besides the Hitman 3 locations, the developer also released fixes for legacy locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2. The list also includes platform-specific fixes, improvements for the PS VR version, and even a list of known issues.
Free Starter Pack for a limited time and chance to get HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition for free
The game developer also announced a Free Starter Pack for Hitman 3. This allows anyone to play the first stage of the game for free. Interested players can play the Dubai location for free to check out the game and likely purchase the full version. This starter pack also comes with free access to the ICA Facility to experience the World of Assassination trilogy. It will also grant free access to the opening mission of Hitman 2 at launch.
Besides, IOI also plans to give periodic free access to other locations in Hitman 3 as part of the pack. So, interested players can look forward to free access to new locations of elusive targets in the coming months. IOI also stated that all these locations like the upcoming elusive targets will also be available to all Hitman 3 owners. It is worth noting that this Starter Pack is only available till April 5.
Finally, a post on Reddit also highlighted that players can get the Hitman 1 Game of The Year (GOTY) Edition for free as part of this Starter Pack. This trick only works on Epic Games Store and it assumes that players have already redeemed the free copy of Hitman 1 last year. It also works fine if the user has purchased the standard edition of the game on Steam or any other PC distribution platform. To do this, users need to add the Free Starter Pack to their account and then purchase the Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 1 GOTY Edition.
The above-mentioned step will show the price of the Access Pass on the listing page, but the check-out page will discount the title by 100 percent. It is worth noting that this GOTY Edition is inside the Hitman 3 Starter Pack. Players are not upgrading their regular copy of Hitman 1.
