India Gaming Show 2023 recap featuring gaming and esports exhibitions, panels, IGS Startup Show, Investor Meet, Demo Session and more
India Gaming Show provided the platform for various gaming publishers and companies to exhibit and put up their games and services in all their glory.
India Gaming Show 2023 took place last week from February 16-18 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It was the return of the event in physical form for the first time since 2019. The gaming event was a concurrent show under the umbrella of the International Engineering & Technology Fair 2023 (IETF). The IETF was inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu. Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, was the guest of honour at the event.
There was plenty on offer for gaming and esports enthusiasts at the India Gaming Show 2023. From exhibitions to conference panels, the event delivered plenty of exciting showcases, products, services and the vibrant atmosphere of the ever-growing gaming industry.
India Gaming Show exhibitions
India Gaming Show provided the platform for various gaming publishers and companies to exhibit and put up their games in all their glory. Riot Games set up a Valorant booth filled with Harbor and Lotus map references.
Sony was exclusively selling PlayStation 5 consoles at the India Gaming Show 2023. Given the product’s short supply, it was an exciting opportunity for avid gamers to get their hands on Sony’s flagship console.
WD_Black Cup reached its grand finals at India Gaming Show with tournaments hosted for Dota 2, CS:GO and Real Cricket 22.
Speaking of esports tournaments, IGS also served as the stage for India’s first-ever all-female Valorant LAN event in India. Grand Slam 2022 was organised by Microsoft and Skye Esports.
Cosplay
Cosplayers added a lot of flair to the gaming event with several donning the roles of Valorant characters, PlayStation-exclusive game characters like Kratos and Aloy, and also the likes of Spider-Man and Robin from pop culture.
India Gaming Show 2023 panels
India Gaming Show 2023 was also home to a variety of panels with industry leaders. IDGS President and JetSynthesis CEO and Founder Rajan Navani, Krafton India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn, and Loco Co-Founder & VP Firasat Durrani were some of the notable leaders from a list of many others who were present for the IGS Conference 2023.
There were ranging topics from metaverse, Web 3.0, the future of gaming, women’s rise in gaming, the potential of esports, the arrival of 5G and more.
IGS Startup Show, Investor Meet and Demo Session
IGS Startup Show, Investor Meet and Demo Session also ran parallel to the exhibitions at the gaming show. There were several aspiring game devs, studios, and start-ups that attended and showcased their games, product and services at the IGS 2023. The programme was designed to aid these aspiring companies to display their potential and attract investors to fuel their efforts s as to contribute to the larger interests of the gaming industry by identifying pain points, solving industry problems, and providing unique games or services for a better gaming and esports experience.
