M3gan and Paranormal Activity movie studio will now be making video games

Blumhouse Productions announced the opening of their new gaming studio, Blumhouse Games.

Blumhouse, a movie production house, has now set up its video game studio. Blumhouse Productions is known for making several popular movies such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge, Split, Get Out, Us, and the recently released M3GAN.

The company’s new Blumhouse Games studio will be partnering with independent game studios to publish games. Blumhouse said they’ll be focusing on games in the indie space and they’ll look to create “original, horror-themed” games for console, PC and mobile.

While the company’s announcement was made, there was no project revealed yet. It’s unknown what title they’re going to make but it’s bound to be from the horror genre given the company’s experience in that department and the announcement for the same.

Zach Wood is going to serve as the president of Blumhouse Games. He has 25 years of experience in the video game industry. Wood will be reporting to the president of Blumhouse Abhijay Prakash. Don Sechler is the CFO of Blumhouse Games. He was a former finance and strategy boss at PlayStation.

It’s also unclear if Blumhouse Games will look to create horror games based on their own IPs or create new video game IPs. For what it’s worth, a Paranormal Activity video game would be the stuff of dreams or one based on the newly released movie M3gan.
