Minecraft Live 2022: Here's every single announcement including Minecraft Legends' launch date, Batman DLC, and more

A plethora of announcements came our way at Minecraft Live 2022. Here's everything that you need to know.

Minecraft Live, the biggest occasion for Mojang to unveil major announcements for Minecrafters, held this year’s edition on October 15. Minecraft Live 2022 was an approximately 2 hours long show, but it did present us with some major news of updates coming up in the future. We got some real in-depth insights into the upcoming Minecraft Legends, but that’s not all. Therefore, below we have compiled all the latest news on Minecraft. Read on for all the details that you missed. 

Minecraft Legends

After the announcement at the Xbox Bethesda Showcase held earlier this year, the developers from Mojang gave us some behind-the-scenes insight into the game. “Minecraft is all about the stories that you make”, said Narrative Director, Kevin Grace. Legends supposedly takes this essence up by a notch. We were introduced to a few elements from the game like the “Well of Fate”. It’s where you start your journey in Minecraft Legends, and will act as the ‘heart of the Overworld’ in the game. Flame of Creation will act as an entry point for your new spawners, while Banner of Courage allows you to direct your friends to different tasks.

A new gameplay video premiered for Minecraft Legends, along with the opening cinematics of Minecraft Legends. A launch window of Spring 2023 has also been revealed for the game.

Batman DLC and Frozen Planet map launch 

Jim Lee from DC, dropped in to announce a Batman DLC in the works for a launch coming soon. In this DLC, you get to use play as Batman and explore Gotham, You get to take on villains like Harley Quinn, Penguin, and Joker, all in Minecraft’s classic pixellated graphics style. The DLC will be available for purchase in the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Marketplace on 18th October. Alongside this, Minecraft: Education Edition will launch the Frozen Planet II map also on the same day, at the Marketplace.

Minecraft Dungeons Season Adventure 3

Fauna Faire has been announced to be ready for launch. Tree Top Tangle was introduced as the latest mission, which is based in the jungle. Fauna Faire will also include a new camp merchant called the Enchantsmith. The Tower, on the other hand, which launched as a part of the first Seasonal Adventure, is getting a new online co-op multiplayer mode, which supports up to 4 players. 

Update 1.20 coming soon

Mojang has still not decided upon the name and wants the community to contribute to it. However, we were introduced to the various new elements that will be a part of the game. These include the camel mob, hanging signs, chiseled bookshelves, and crafting with bamboo. Additionally, a new range of default skins will be made available on 29th November, with more to come in the future. 

Sniffer is the latest mob to join Minecraft

The winner of the Mob Vote was announced at the end of the show. Sniffer has received the maximum number of votes from fans, from among other options of Tuff Golem and Rascal. Players will soon get to spot the seed-hunting Sniffer in the game. 

Other than these announcements, the Minecraft Entity Wizard tool was introduced. It is a developers’ tool that you can use to build your own mobs. The Spooky Fall event, which is a collaboration of Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Dungeons, has also been announced to return this October 26th.
