The first open beta by Bandai Namco didn’t go as planned. The developer B.B. Studio couldn’t collect the data they needed and their servers couldn’t handle the hundreds of thousand of players that hopped on to test the PC game.
Bandai Namco is currently running the Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 PC Open Beta. This second open beta is running from January 16 at 9 pm PST to January 19 until 12 AM PST. Simply head to Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 Steam page. You’ll find the option to join the Open Beta testing, and request access to the beta and it will be granted instantly.

The first open beta by Bandai Namco didn’t go as planned. The developer B.B. Studio couldn’t collect the data they needed and their servers couldn’t handle the hundreds of thousands of players that hopped on to test the PC game. This time, hopefully, the servers and the teams are better prepared and it’s a successful open beta period.
The development team apologised when the first open beta ended. They said, “We sincerely apologize that we were unable to conduct the network test on the scheduled date in April due to the high server load caused by the heavy access, which made it difficult to connect to the game and prevented the game from being saved properly.”
B.B. Studio developers continued, “Since then, we have investigated the cause of the problem and taken corrective measures, and now that we are on schedule to resume the network test, we are preparing to conduct the network test again in early 2023. We apologize again for the long wait, and we will continue to improve the quality of the service based on the feedback we have received from users during this test. We will release more details on the network test schedule and content as they become available.”
How to transfer game data from PS4 or PS5 to the PC version?
There's no way to do that, sadly. The game hasn’t been released yet and this is the open beta. It is made primarily for testing and allowing players to try the game out on PC. So there won’t be any cross-progression in most games that are in the open beta phase.
Not that it matters if it’s an open beta or not when it comes to Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2. Bandai Namco had already announced that players will not be able to transfer data to the PC even when the full game is released. It’s a tough pill to swallow and a scenario that won’t be appreciated by any Gundam fan who was looking forward to cross-progression.
