Netflix introduces gamertags on Netflix Games; Two more Netflix games have been released

SpongeBob: Get Cooking and Desta: The Memories Between are now available for all Netflix subscribers.

Netflix has just introduced gamertags for their Netflix games section. Testing for this feature began a couple of months ago and the gamertag feature was rolled out for some multiplayer games that involved a leaderboard and rankings. Now, Netflix is bringing gamertags for both Android and iOS devices to set up a nickname of their choice that will feature across titles on the platform. Find out how to set up your cool gamertag on Netflix right here.

Gamertag on Netflix

Netflix’s gamertag option will allow players to not only create their own unique identity across the Netflix Games section but also opens up the ability to invite other players in multiplayer games using their gamertag. We all know the value of a gamertag and having our gamertag on the leaderboard of a game we put our time in, is a special feeling indeed.

If you’re looking to set up your gamertag on Netflix, here’s a stepwise guide for both Android and iOS users:

There’s a dedicated section to set up your Netflix gamertag on Android. Players have to simply head to the Netflix Games section. Then, choose “Create your Netflix game handle” from the games tab. You’ll then be able to choose a username (16 characters max with a combination of letters and numbers). In case you’re not quite sure about a username you chose and wish to change it, you can change your gamertag anytime.

As for iOS devices, there’s no dedicated section to set up a gamertag. Apple users would have to download a multiplayer game like Rival Pirates or Lucky Luna to choose a gamertag. Simply download one of these games, run it and follow the on-screen instructions and you’ll eventually be asked to set up a gamertag of your choice.

SpongeBob: Get Cooking and Desta: The Memories Between

Netflix announced the gamertag feature on Tuesday while they also launched SpongeBob: Get Cooking and Desta: The Memories Between. SpongeBob: Get Cooking, developed by Tilting Points, is a culinary game based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series. Desta: The Memories Between has been developed by ustwo Games, developers of the Monument Valley series. Desta, a rogue-like, has exclusively made its way to mobile via Netflix and it will also be released on PC and consoles in the future.
