Sony has just announced a partnership with American rapper, singer, and songwriter Travis Scott for PlayStation 5. The company noted that this partnership is aimed at creative collaboration between Sony, Travis, and his band, Cactus Jack. It noted that this partnership came about after Sony heard that Travis was “a huge PlayStation fan”. The company did not reveal details about any future projects beyond a 37-second video with a new pair of sneakers. This announcement went on to note that a partnership with Travis was “a perfect fit'. Sony also equated Travis to the PlayStation brand noting that he constantly innovated, surprised, and pushed boundaries. Sony PlayStation 5 team partners with Travis Scott; details

The company shared a dedicated post on the PlayStation blog to announce details around this partnership. Sony noted that fond memories and deep knowledge will help inspire Travis as he works on collaborative projects. In addition, Travis also shared an official statement which reads, 'I'm really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team.' These departments include “Platform”, “Design”, and “Engineering”. The video ends with Travis taking the new controller, booting up the PS5, and being literally ‘blown-away’ from the experience.

Custom PS5 side plates

Finally, we also saw some custom PlayStation 5 side panels for sale online. A company called Plate Station has surfaced online while offering a series of third-party colored plates. Interested users can choose from “Chromatic Silver, Cherry Red, Black, Blue, or Jungle Camo” options. The company is taking pre-orders for the plates at $40 or Rs 3,100 with a 10-day return policy and free worldwide shipping. Plate Station notes that there are “unofficial third-party accessories”.
