Riot Games reveals details of Valorant Champions Tour 2023

Riot Games has announced the LOCK//IN tournament details. This is set to be the largest event in the history of the VALORANT Champions Tour, as per Riot Games. LOCK//IN will have the world’s best 32 esports team contesting for the ultimate prize in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The tournament kicks off on February 13 and ends on March 4. 

Ubisoft cancels Project Q first revealed last year

Ubisoft’s PvP Battle Arena Project Q is no longer an upcoming game. They’ve reportedly cancelled the project. Project Q is believed to be one of the six games that Ubisoft has cancelled in the last seven months. Most recently, Ubisoft revealed in their financial call that they’ve cancelled three unannounced titles.

Fortnite latest update version 23.20 is now out

The latest update on Fortnite launched on January 18th. It brought a new item called Falcon scout to the game, along with 5 new reality augments. A Rift Warden Stellan Outfit is now also available in the game. 

Halo Infinite’s Creative Director Joseph Staten is going back to Xbox Publishing

Amidst mass layoffs in Microsoft, which has trickled down to 343 Industries, the Halo devs have announced an internal restructuring. As a result, Halo Infinite Creative Director Joseph Staten will be going back to the publishing division of Xbox.

Kid Laroi’s music now out with Fortnite's latest update

Following the rumor of the Fortnite x Kid LAROI concert, Fortnite announced that Kid LAROI’s music is now featured on the in-game radio. It was announced via the official Twitter account of Fortnite that players can tune in to Kid LAROI's Icon Radio takeover, which will feature some of his favorite songs. 

Forspoken’s first 75 minutes leaks online

Ahead of the game’s launch next week, the first 75 minutes of the game leaked online in a video. The video emerged on emerged from “Resetera forums”, and has now been taken down. Regardless, it revealed quite a bit of Forspoken's gameplay, story, combat system and more.  

Riot Games laying off employees

After Microsoft, the Valorant maker Riot Games is the second in line to be laying off employees to deal with recession. As per reports, Riot is laying off employees across departments of recruitment and human resources, support and Esports. However, the scale and number has not yet been revealed, though employees are now speaking up on social media platforms. 

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 2 and Warzone 2.0 delayed

Activision has announced that they will be delaying the launch of Season 2 of Modern Warfare II as well and Warzone 2.0. Season 2 was set to launch this February 1st. However, as per the latest update from the Call of Duty makers Activision, the launch has now been delayed to February 15th. 

The Last of Us TV series surpasses 10 million views

In less than two days, The Last of Us TV series has recorded a staggering 10 million views. The HBO series based on the popular PlayStation game The Last of Us, clearly has a huge fan following. The first episode premiered on January 15, to such warm reaction from the audience.   

The Steam Chinese New Year Sale is now on

The online game retailer Steam is currently celebrating the Chinese New Year with a sale. Multiple games are on great discounts up to 80%. Some of the titles featured on the sale include Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Gears 5, Persona 5 and more.
