1. High on Life, Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland charged with felony domestic violence and false imprisonment

 

Rick and Morty co-creator and High on Life creator Justin Roiland has been charged with one felony count of domestic violence and one felony count of false imprisonment, as per NBC News. Roiland pleaded not guilty to the incident which occurred in 2020. These charges on Roiland were made against an anonymous Jane Doe he dated in 2020.

5. 26th Annual DICE Awards Game of the Year Nominees Announced

 

The 26th D.I.C.E. Awards nominations have been revealed by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS). Sony and Santa Monica Studios’ God of War: Ragnarok is leading with a total of 12 nominations across categories such as Story, Adventure Game of the Year, Game Design, Game Direction, and Game of the Year. The D.I.C.E Awards ceremony would be held on February 23 in Las Vegas. 


6. Dead Space movie is in development, hints filmmaker John Carpenter

 

Filmmaker John Carpenter has accidentally revealed that another director is working on the Dead Space movie. Carpenter was asked last October if he ever wanted to adapt a video game for a movie. He mentioned Dead Space and was since linked to the game with reports of a possible movie in development. Now, Carpenter revealed in an interview with Variety that he was never a part of a project around Dead Space. He said, “I think they already have another director involved.”

 

7. Xbox Germany says it will announce Forza and Redfall release dates in live stream

 

The German version of the Xbox Wire blog announced that The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends and Redfall release dates will be revealed at the upcoming Xbox Developer_Direct showcase. The showcase will take place on January 26th at 1:30 AM IST.

The next free games by Epic Games Store have been revealed. Players can download Epistory – Typing Chronicles from January 19 to 26. Epistory is developed and published by Fishing Cactus. The game will replace the current free game First Class Trouble which is available until January 19.
