Samurai Troopers to Host Special Anniversary Screening in 2025

Samurai Troopers marks 37 years with a special Tokyo screening and guest appearance.
The cult anime Yoroiden Samurai Trooper, or Ronin Warriors or Samurai Troopers Abroad, is going to leave its mark with a special screening event in Tokyo. On June 11, 2025, the event will be held at the Shinjuku Piccadilly Theater and commemorate almost four decades since its initial broadcast in Japan.
Samurai Troopers to Host Special Anniversary Screening
First broadcast between April 1988 and March 1989, Samurai Troopers ran for 39 episodes. This was later followed by three original video animation (OVA) series that were released between the years 1989 and 1991.The series, which combines mystical warfare with armored warriors, is a cult favorite and had previously been given a Blu-ray box set in 2018 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The special event will project three chosen episodes from the initial TV broadcast. Voice actor Takeshi Kusao, who voiced Ryo Sanada, and Hideo Okamoto, designer of the show's characteristic yoroi fight armor, will both appear with their fan bases during a special stage appearance at the theater.
Ticket Information and Event Details
Tickets for the screening, which cost 3,500 yen, will go on sale at Ticket Pia from May 5 to May 28. Due to limited supply and fan demand, early reservation is advisable.
Series Synopsis
Against the background of ancient turmoil, Samurai Troopers chronicles the adventures of five young samurai who have been selected to don magical armor and save humanity from the rebirth of Arago, an evil emperor who attempted to take over the human race a millennium ago. One thousand years pass in silence until Arago comes back to modern-day Tokyo with destruction and the rekindling of an epic struggle between good and evil.
Fans can look forward to a nostalgic journey into the universe of armored heroes, as well as a unique opportunity to listen to comments from major creators of the series. Will you be returning to the world of the Samurai Troopers in June next year?
