BGMI might be unbanned in India soon as Krafton creates new BGMI YouTube channel

Krafton has also updated BGMI official website's support section which features several tutorial videos.

BGMI could finally be unbanned in India as Krafton has just created a new YouTube support channel for BGMI. This support channel had four tutorial videos to provide support to BGMI players. Krafton has also updated its website and these videos can also be watched by users there. This could signal towards a potential return of Battlegrounds Mobile India which was banned in India in July.

BGMI unban in India

Krafton created this YouTube channel on September 29 and it’s called ‘Krafton Player Support’, as reported first by MySmartPrice. The channel had four videos but they’re unlisted on YouTube. So, players can only watch them via the support channel on the BGMI website’s support section. These tutorial videos are also added to the game as well for players. The four videos are about solving issues such as adding friends, unlinking accounts, deleting accounts and reporting players in BGMI.

Battlegrounds Mobile India was banned in July by The Government of India under Section 69A of the IT Act. It was the same reason behind the ban of PUBG Mobile and several Chinese apps in India. All of these apps are banned from Google Play Store and Apple App Store in India, citing national security as the reason.

Krafton had earlier said that they’re working on bringing BGMI back to the country but it’s been a while since we’ve heard any update about it. Perhaps the creation of this channel is a hint towards the eventual unban of BGMI in India. Since it wouldn't make sense to add tutorial videos of a game built for the Indian audience if the game wasn't returning.

BGMI still playable in India despite ban

While BGMI is officially banned in India from the Play Store and App Store, players have found a workaround. BGMI can still be downloaded from third-party websites and played in India, at the time of writing. Players who had the app already installed before the ban are also able to play the game without many issues. However, there have been instances where the new update wasn’t rolled out for such users. It’s most likely due to the official ban on the game in India.
