Call of Duty took a dramatic step as they removed/shut down some old online multiplayer sever in a single sweep.
The nostalgia of games hits hard the hardcore gamers. Now, it's time for Call of Duty fans to say "bye-bye" to the old Online multiplayer servers. The platforms have been permanently shut down on the Nintendo Platform, which makes it hard for the players to join online things.
For some players, this can be nothing because there are various new updates every time. However, the players who were always going back to the old classics will surely miss it.
It is worth noting that the games impacted by this issue are all from a time when the franchise was more focused on realism in terms of storytelling before Call of Duty began repeatedly bringing back its villains. Fans who are not fond of the more recent over-the-top elements of COD may feel particularly disappointed by this turn of events.
Twitter handle, CharlieINTEL took their handle and wrote, "The servers for Call of Duty games on the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS are now offline. Attempting to connect is showing a new error message that the servers have been discontinued."
After this they penned another post and wote, "UPDATE: Activision tells me that the Nintendo WiFi servers were discontinued and that resulted in older games being unplayable. “The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, which provides certain online functionality for many Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo DSi software titles, was discontinued.”
