Counter Strike 2 and a playable beta may launch soon, reports suggest

Counter Strike, the first-person shooter game might have a sequel under development at Valve. It has been discovered that a beta of the new version might launch later this month. So CS:GO might have something new for its players on the way. Unfortunately, no official announcement has been issued by the creators of the game so far. 

Files named "cs2" and "csgo2" have been located, and a beta may be released later this month, according to a recent NVIDIA leak.

Counter Strike 2 beta could be announced later this month

A Twitter user, gabefollower stated that the latest NVIDIA drivers introduced support for unknown app executables called “csgos2.exe” and “cs2.exe”, which obviously means Counter Strike 2. This possibly indicates the arrival of something new to the game. The user has also shared the screenshots of the driver, stating “something weird just happened”.

The Twitter user went on to say that gamers may test the same by opening NVIDIA Control Panel and unticking a box(shown in the image shared in the tweet) in 3D settings. As per gabefollower, a lot of future games were leaked in the same manner.

 

 

Esports journalist, Richard Lewis has confirmed that this information is real. He further stated that the tentative release date for the beta version of the same is in this month of March with April 1st at the outside. 

So far, 2023 has been fortunate for Counter-Strike, as seen by the game-breaking records on Steam by hitting the highest player count record. This may have been some good inspiration for the developers to create something new for the gamers.

Since the release of CS:GO, there have been rumours regarding the game's sequel, and the players' anticipation has only grown. But now, the Counter Strike players seem excited enough as this would freshen up the game, and are hoping that this time, the leak turns out to be true.
