Death Stranding 2 reportedly releasing in 2024

There’s a lot of new information coming in about Death Stranding this month. Kojima announced Death Stranding 2 during The Game Awards and soon after, a Death Stranding movie was confirmed. Yesterday, Death Stranding was given away for free on the Epic Games Store. Now there are reports suggesting that Death Stranding 2 and an “upcoming first-person shooter” from PlayStation Studios will be released in 2024.

Death Stranding 2 release window as well as the Sony first-party shooter title are both mentioned on the ArtStation website profile of a senior artist at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts characters. Frank Aliberti has worked on both of these upcoming titles, as reported first by pcgameabout.com.

 Aliberti also mentioned Death Stranding 2 in his list of projects with a 2024 release window. Death Stranding 2 was unveiled this month at The Game Awards and you can check out the reveal trailer below. Kojima said that he rewrote Death Stranding 2 because he "didn’t want to predict any more future".

 

 

PlayStation's upcoming FPS game to release in 2024

Aliberti’s page mentions an “upcoming first-person shooter", most likely a project by Firewalk Studios. Sony Interactive Entertainment and Firewalk Studios had exclusive agreement in 2021, stating that Firewalk Studios will develop and release a AAA multiplayer game for PlayStation. 

At the time of the announcement, reports suggested that the team would look to provide a multiplayer gameplay experience based on “excellent core gameplay and impressive art design."

This unannounced project is currently the only FPS game PlayStation Studios is involved in, as claimed by pcgameabout.com. Firewalk Studios has several developers who have worked previously on titles like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Mass Effect, Destiny and Halo. This developer studio was founded in 2018.
