To invite or join friends in Diablo 4, simply follow these steps:

1. Open the main menu in Diablo 4.
2. Click on the Social tab located at the top of the screen. Alternatively, you can press the "O" key for quicker navigation.
3. Select the "Add a Friend" option.
4. Enter your friend's Battle.Tag, which consists of a # sign followed by numbers.
5. Wait for your friend to accept your request.
6. Once accepted, you can easily invite them to your game or join them from your friends list.

Inviting friends in Diablo 4 is straightforward, regardless of their platform—all they need is their Battle.Tag information. If you or your friends are unsure where to find this, simply click "Add a Friend," and your Battle.Tag info will be displayed. Having a Battle.Tag is a must for playing Diablo 4, so everyone should have one.

There's only one prerequisite for inviting friends in Diablo 4: you must complete the prologue of the game. Once you reach the major city of Kyovashad, where you'll encounter random online players, you're good to go. From there, you can explore the world with up to three other friends. 

Diablo 4 indeed supports cross-progression, making it seamless to continue your adventure across different platforms.
