“Uninstalling the game would free up the space on my PC anyway.”

In a rage, Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen left the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual. During the event, he experienced several disconnections, raising several red flags.  Verstappen is widely considered as one of the top drivers of his generation. He branded the event as a "clown show" as a result of the technical difficulties he encountered. The F1 driver stated, “Honestly it’s a joke, you cannot call this an event, it's a clown show”.

Max Verstappen ragequits the event

Verstappen confronted a number of disconnections during the race, resulting in the creation of many red flags. Hence, leading to the event being labelled a 'clown show' by the F1 Driver. He faced various technical issues as well as some red flags at the beginning of the event. This forced the event to be put on hold for a short period of time. Max quickly regained top place after restarting the race. But he got disconnected again, prompting him to quit the race.

Before leaving the race, Max said, “Look at this. They call it amazingly bad luck. This is just incompetence. They can’t even control their own game. This is already the third time this happens to me now, that we get kicked off the game while doing this race, so this is the last time I’m ever participating”.

When Verstappen was behind the wheel of the #1 car in the 14th position, he was informed that the lost lap would not be reinstalled.

The Driver concluded, “I think I’m going to uninstall the game. That’s nice. Frees up a bit of space anyway”.

He stated, “You prepare for five months to try and win this championship, you’re leading the championship, you try and win this race that you prepare for two months and they handle like this”.

The CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Gerard Neveu said in a statement picked up by traxion.gg.  “It became clear within the first seven hours of the race that we had some serious server issues which led us to showing the red flag on the race twice.”

Neveu further stated, “This put us in a weakened position, and we were subjected to some security breaches which caused the global disconnection of all competitors”.
