Fortnite 31.20 Patch Notes: Day of Doom LTM Launches with Marvel Superpowers

The upcoming Fortnite season, Absolute Doom, revolves around the ongoing Marvel collaboration, and players have been eager for the return of a Marvel-themed limited-time mode (LTM). Epic Games has responded by introducing the Day of Doom LTM, which launches on September 17, 2024 that is today.
Gameplay Overview
In this mode, 32 players are split into two teams:
- Doom’s Henchmen: Your mission is to collect six Arcane Artifacts. Once all artifacts are in your possession, the Avengers side can no longer respawn. To win, eliminate all remaining heroes.
- Avengers: As a defender, your job is to stop Doom’s forces from collecting these artifacts. You’ll need to eliminate all of Doom’s Henchmen to secure victory, but they’ll have multiple respawns, so strategy is key.
Loot and Powers
While the loot pool is still unconfirmed, there’s speculation that superpowers from current seasons could be available to both sides, depending on who you’re fighting for. This could add a layer of epic superhero combat, allowing players to use iconic Marvel abilities.

How to Play
To join the Day of Doom LTM:
- Head to the Fortnite in-game Discover page.
- Look under the “By Epic” category and select the Day of Doom playlist.
- Queue up for a match solo or with friends.
