Forza Motorsport developers have been facing criticism over the usage of older car models.

The racing game genre is no stranger to the practice of recycling car models from previous installments to streamline development and content creation, a common strategy employed by numerous gaming franchises. However, in the case of Microsoft's acclaimed Forza series, the recycling of car models has long been a point of contention among fans who feel that certain vehicles have been retained for too many iterations.

Forza, known for its exceptional attention to visual detail and realistic nature when recreating car models, has cultivated a dedicated fanbase over the years. Nevertheless, players have consistently expressed their concerns regarding the persistence of older car models in the franchise, leaving them yearning for a fresh and updated gaming experience.

The recent announcement of "Forza Motorsport," with its promise of being "built from the ground up," had raised the hopes of enthusiasts who believed the series would finally break free from its tradition of reusing car models. Microsoft's bold declaration seemed to indicate a new era for the franchise, one that would set new standards for the racing genre.

Over the years, players have noticed the recurrence of certain car models in various Forza titles. While such a practice is not uncommon in the gaming industry, the Forza community's exacting standards for realism and authenticity have magnified their concerns.

However, as players have started to experience Forza Motorsport firsthand, some have raised questions about whether the game truly fulfills the "built from the ground up" promise. One particular criticism revolves around the inclusion of a 14-year-old car model, the '00 Nissan Silvia Spec-R.

A Reddit user highlighted this issue, stating, "FM 23’ still uses models from the original Xbox (2005). We’ve been asking for updated models for almost 10 years. I don’t know why Turn 10 is so persistent in avoiding this, but my god it’s annoying to see it. Especially when it’s one of your favorite cars. Hot wheels have better proportions than this."

The disappointment expressed by some players stems from their interpretation of "built from the ground up" as an indication that everything in the game would be entirely new and next-gen.
