As with any high-profile launch, players have reported several launch day problems. Here is everything we know regarding the Hitman 3 launch.

IO Interactive has finally launched its much-anticipated AAA video game title, Hitman 3 across the globe. Hitman 3 marks the conclusion of the popular assassination trilogy that started with Hitman 1 in 2016. As part of the launch, the company shared the pre-launch plans regarding the game. We also got to know information regarding the World of Assassination to import levels from older games to Hitman 3. The game landed on January 20, 2021, across multiple platforms. These include Windows, PlayStation 4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch. As with any high-profile launch, we also got reports regarding launch day problems that the players faced. Here is everything we know regarding the Hitman 3 launch including the initial troubles.

Hitman 3 out across the world, details

As noted above, Hitman 3 is finally available across multiple platforms for players to play. In the lead-up to the launch, the company shared several pieces regarding the game. These include all the new technologies that IO Interactive has added to the game, new locations, maps, and more. We have already reported on the sudden price hike that we saw on the Epic Game Store. However, IO Interactive outlined that the price increase was a mistake and Epic Games Store has rectified the error. The correct pricing started appearing right before the launch of the game.

Now, talking about the World of Assassination, we have already covered the issues that IO Interactive is facing on PC. As noted in a past report, the company reaffirmed that it is working on a new solution allowing Hitman 1 and 2 players to import levels in Hitman 3 on PC. However, they need to wait for a couple of weeks as the solution is currently not ready. Beyond this, the system was likely to work without a hitch for players on other platforms.

But initial reports noted that the IOI Profile website meant for this import went down soon after the launch. To be clear, IO Interactive has outlined two different websites for the import process. One is meant to transfer the progress from older games to Hitman 3 and the second is meant to transfer the levels. Here, the Profile website is meant to handle the progress from older games. The game developer outlined that it is working to bring the website online. It also noted that this progress transfer will wipe any progress that players make in Hitman 3 before the process. The issues extended to other players who simply wanted to play the game as they could not connect to the servers.
