Honor of Kings International Championship 2023 announced with a massive prize pool

Honor of Kings International Championship (KIS) 2023 has been announced with a massive prize pool of $10 million. Scroll down to know more detail about the tournament.

The Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC) 2023 has been officially announced. The tournament will feature a massive prize pool of $10 million (INR 81.75 cr) which is the same as the previous year's edition. It is by far the biggest prize pool ever in any mobile event. The tournament is all set to begin at the end of 2023 while the exact dates are yet to be revealed. The official announcement regarding the tournament came from the official twitter handle of Honor of Kings. Other information including the format, teams, match schedule will be announced in the near future. 

In 2022, a total of 16 teams from around the world participated in the month-long tournament which included multiple rounds including group stage and the knockouts. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the tournament was played in a semi-online format where the Chinese teams played from the Jianshang Sports Complex, while the global teams took part from the VSPN studio in South Korea. In the end, it was China’s EStar Pro that won 4-2 against Gank Gaming in the grand finals of the tournament. It would be important to see whether the 2023 edition of the Honor of Kings Championship (KIC) will be held in the offline or the online format.

The craze of Honor of Kings has been evident despite the game being available only in Brazil. When it comes to the global release of the game, the date is still unknown, however, it might get launched in the upcoming months. Honor of Kings publisher Tencent has been actively promoting the esports tournament of the game while every then and now. It looks like the publisher wants to ensure a great competitive scene being built before the global release of the game.

The game definitely holds a promising competitive scene and hence we might witness some exciting action in the 2023 edition of Honor of Kings International Championship (KIS) 2023. The Chinese region has already shown its dominance in the prior edition of the tournament and it would be interesting to see how other regions catch up against them.
