Marvel Rivals "Galacta’s Gift" Event: Free Rewards, Chrono Shield Cards & Season 0 Battle Pass Return

Marvel Rivals has introduced the "Galacta's Gift" event, starting May 15, 2025, to mark the first anniversary of its Closed Alpha Test. The temporary event provides players a chance to win special in-game rewards by engaging in regular play across modes like Quick Match, Competitive, and Practice vs. AI.

 

 

Free Rewards and Cosmetics

Participants can buy a variety of cosmetic items, including the Doctor Doom and Doom 2099 Nameplates, "Better Stop That Vehicle" and "Hulk Plush" Sprays, and four Chrono Shield Cards. The Chrono Shield Cards are especially interesting, as they enable players to avoid point loss from the loss of a fight in Competitive mode, thus preserving their rank. In addition to that, a Costume Coin will be given to players, and they can redeem it for an inaugural costume of any of the 33 heroes included in Season 0.
 

Return Of Season 0 BattlePass

At the same time, the Season 0 Battle Pass is returning for purchase for 590 Lattice. Unlike its first appearance, this one does not have a free reward track; players will need to buy the Luxury Battle Pass to gain access to the related rewards. Importantly, after being purchased, the Battle Pass itself does not expire, so players can unlock its contents on their own schedule in subsequent seasons.
 

Chrono Cards and Their Impact

Worth mentioning is that the release of the Chrono Shield Card has initiated community discussion surrounding competitive balance. There is some concern that players feel the item will give an unfair advantage in ranked play, risking degrading the competitive integrity of the mode.
The "Galacta's Gift" event and re-release of the Season 0 Battle Pass can be accessed until May 29, 2025. It is recommended that players take advantage of it within this timeframe to enjoy the exclusive deals in their entirety.
