The list also includes other titles including Honor of Kings, Pokémon GO, Coin Master, Roblox, and Monster Stike. According to the dedicated post from Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile earner about $2.6 billion. This game was closely followed by Honor of Kings with $2.5 billion. PUBG Mobile could have earned more revenue if it was not banned in India a few months back. Chinese giant Tencent is behind both these games netting more than $5 billion. Talking about PUBG Mobile, the report noted that these numbers include the revenue earned from both the global version as well as the Chinese version called “Game for Peace”.

Sensor Tower noted that PUBG Mobile earned about 64.3 percent more than in 2019. Similarly, the Honor of Kings earned 42.8 percent more than the figure in 2019. This increase in revenue could likely be attributed to the global pandemic COVID-19 along with the lockdown across the globe. Pokémon GO earned about $1.2 billion on the third spot reporting a 31.5 percent increase. Coin Master, the game on the fourth spot earned $1.1 billion marking a “more than two-times increase”.

Moving forward, Roblox also got $1.1 billion while “nearly doubling” from 2019. This game has also achieved good success on other platforms and this success has prompted the company to launch an IPO in 2021. Finally, the list concludes with Monster Strike with $958 million in revenue. Unlike other titles in the list, this smartphone game just experienced 2.8 percent growth from 2019. In total, smartphone games earned about $76.4 billion in 2020, a 19.5 percent growth from 2019. These figures do not include the revenue generated from third-party app stores on Android in China and other regions.
