Shroud and Sacriel new open-world survival game: Project Astrid

Renowned streamers Shroud and Sacriel have recently announced their new AAA open-world survival game called Project Astrid. The game is being created in collaboration with Splash Damage and is being developed on Unreal Engine 5.

Shroud and Sacriel are core members of the project and have made valuable contributions to the game's development. Shroud says his goal is to create a great survival game and he's confident it's possible with "the minds of Sacriel and the team at Splash Damage."

Creative director Lance Winter said that “Sacriel and Shroud have provided feedback from fans and creators about the game's design and features, which has helped improve the game. We wanted to bring something new and unique to the survival genre,” says Winter.

Richard Jolly, CEO of Splash Damage said, “Founding from friends who met in online PvP, Splash Damage has been passionate about crafting unforgettable multiplayer experiences for over 20 years. Project Astrid is the culmination of this passion, born out of a partnership with two close friends, who also happen to be incredibly well-respected experts in our industry. We’re excited to share something fresh with our fans as we take a bold step forward and craft a game that’s truly different from anything we’ve done before.”

Shroud emphasized the gunplay in the announcement video and said that his vision is to give a new direction to the survival genre. Sacriel also expressed his excitement about the project and called working with Splash Damage a privilege.
