KEZZER and ROOKIE have been suspended for one year by the PUBG Mobile officials for colluding in the PMPL Europe Championship 2023.

There have been several instances of collusion between teams in the history of PUBG Mobile Esports. Some players tend to breach the code of conduct which hampers the integrity of the competition. One similar instance happened in the ongoing PMPL Europe Championship where players from two different teams underperformed intentionally. According to PUBG Mobile officials, KEZZER and ROOKIE from BRA Esports and  FUT Esports respectively were found to be guilty of playing badly intentionally on Day 1 of the PUBG Mobile Pro League European Championship 2023.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that BRA Esports players asked FUT Esports to change their drop locations on the Erangel map. This resulted in the suspension of players from both teams. The PUBG Mobile officials stated that the players breached the code of conduct and violated subsection 6.2.1 of the rulebook. Here's what the officials mentioned in their official statement -

"After a thorough investigation, we identified that two players from BRA Esports, KEZZERS, and FUT Esports, ROOKIE respectively, attempted to collude during Day 1 of the 2023 PMPL European Championship Spring. This infraction is in violation of our rulebook in subsection 6.2.1 Collusion under Prohibited Conduct.

As a result, both players will receive a 1-year competitive suspension effective immediately-June 9, 2023. FUT Esports & BRA Esports are allowed to continue to play in the tournament since no competitive advantage was gained by the attempt, but both teams have been reminded of the severity of their player's actions. Fair play and integrity are of utmost importance to us, and we will continue to ensure a level playing field for all participants."

What is the 6.2.1 subsection of the PUBG Mobile Esports rulebook?

The 6.2.1 subsection highlights the different collusion activities under which a player or team can be prohibited from playing in the tournament. Here are the examples of collusion -

1. Any agreement among two or more players or other Team Members not to play to a reasonable standard of competition in a Tournament Game in order to provide any opposing Team or player with certain advantages or
benefits.
2. Pre-arranging to split the prize money and/or any other form of compensation, except that a Team may arrange for Owners to divide prizes earned by that Team and pay it to players and others who contributed to the victory.
3. Deliberately losing a Tournament Game for compensation, or for any other reason, or attempting to induce another player to do so.
