Wild Hearts: How to pet smaller Kemono

Wild Hearts is essentially a monster-hunting game. However, you can also pet smaller Kemeno in Azuma. So, next time you see a harmless, cute Kemono roaming around, you don’t have to necessarily slay it. While the ability to pet a creature in video games is reason enough, there will also be valuable resources up for grabs when you pet a Kemono in Wild Hearts. 

Petting a Kemono is not as straightforward as is monster-slaying in the game. For some odd reason, you have to sneak up on those adorable creatures so that you can pet them. Here’s exactly how you can pet the cute beasts in Wild Hearts.

How to pet in Wild Hearts

Crouch using B on Xbox, X on PC, or circle on PS5. Then, sneak up on the Kemono from behind and ensure that they don’t run away. When you successfully sneak up on a beast, you’ll be prompted with the option of either slaying down the harmless Kemono or petting them.
 
You can choose LT/L2 on Xbox or PlayStation 5 respectively to pet in Wild Hearts. PC players have to choose the interact button which by default is E. 

 

 

Players can also keep a track of how many times they’ve killed or petted a creature, for personal guilt measuring. Head to the creature catalogue through the menu to find out these stats for each creature. 

Be advised that this only works for the smaller Kemono spread throughout the feudal Japan-inspired Azuma. Trying to pet a Kingtusk and the like wouldn’t end the way you’d like it to.
