Wild Hearts new trailer explains what the Karakuri system is and how it works

In a nutshell, the Karakuri allows players to create wooden structures out of thin air and use them as traps and weapons during a battle. It also allows them to create ways to travel and discover the world of Azuma.
EA & Koei Tecmo revealed the first Monogatari (Narrative) Episode for Wild Hearts, their upcoming monster-hunting game. Episode 1 explained what the Karakuri is, how it works and its ancient history. The Karakuri system is a unique ancient technology that will help players gather resources, travel distances, and most importantly.. hunt giant beasts in the wild.
What is Karakuri in Wild Hearts?
This episode featured various ‘Kemono’ beasts in battle with the player who uses the Karakuri. In a nutshell, the Karakuri allows players to create wooden structures out of thin air and use them as traps and weapons during a battle. There are various Karakuri systems available in the game and players would have to gather resources in order to craft them. However, there are some Karakuri systems which are stronger and would require teaming up with other players to create them so as to take down the beast.
Karakuri categories explained
There are three main categories of the Karakuri. Basic Karakuri are quickly constructed and used ideally during combat. They’re simple constructions and don’t require a lot of resources to be crafted. Crate, spring, and torch Karakuri are part of the Basic category.
Fusion Karakuri is built using a combination of basic Karakuri which are ‘fused’ together. They’re ideally used for defence against the Kemono beasts but can offer help in other situations as well. The pounder, star bomb and repeater crossbow fall in the Fusion Karakuri category.
Dragon Karakuri is used to discover the world of Azuma. This category of Karakuri requires a lot of energy (called Celestial Thread) to operate. Celestial Thread is drawn from Azuma’s land and this energy grows when players discover and upgrade an area’s Dragon Pits, as revealed by EA & Koei Tecmo. Dragon Karakui consists of flying vine, roller and hunting tower.
Wild Hearts price and release date revealed
Wild Hearts is set in the world of Azuma where they can play alone or team up with two friends. EA’s game will feature crossplay across all platforms as well. Wild Hearts is set for a release on Februarty 18, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The price for Wild Hearts has been revealed as $109.99 AUD (roughly ₹6030). Wild Hearts Deluxe Edition is priced at $139.99 AUD (roughly ₹7670).
