Xbox Games Showcase 2023 dates revealed alongside announcement of Starfield Direct

Xbox Game Studios have just announced the date for their massive summer games showcase. The event by Microsoft’s gaming division will take place on June 11. The event will be followed by the Starfield Direct which has also been announced by Bethesda. 

Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct

The news about Starfield Direct was accompanied by the delay of Starfield. Xbox had said earlier that Starfield would be released in the first half of 2023. That’s not the case anymore with Starfield delayed again. Starfield now has a firm release date announced as September 6. 

“Join us for #StarfieldDirect following the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 11,” said Microsoft when announcing Xbox-owned Bethesda’s game showcase.

Bethesda will be showcasing its sci-fi RPG title, its gameplay, narrative and more during the Starfield Direct showcase. 

We’ve already had one ‘Direct’ event this year, with Microsoft hosting the first-ever Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct digital event in January. Xbox announced the release dates for Minecraft Legends and Redfall at the event. There was also a focus on Forza Motorsport and a surprise release of Hi-Fi Rush, developed by Tango Gameworks. 

It was at the event that Xbox revealed Starfield will be having its separate showcase event ahead of its eventual release this year. The date for Starfield Direct and the game’s release date are now out.

E3 2023 

Microsoft had also revealed at the event that they’ll be hosting a showcase in Los Angeles in June as well. That’s around the same time when E3 will be taking place. However, reports suggest that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will not be attending the event.

However, Microsoft will be hosting its product showcases at Microsoft Theater, which is right across the street from LA Convention Center which is home to the E3.
