All Valorant Agents Listed: From First to Latest

Here, you will find a complete fellows to all of Valorant agents, from the first characters available in-game to the most recent releases. We have put them in order of release, allowing you to see when agents were introduced to the game.

Valorant, a tactical first-person shooter from Riot Games, has a huge list of agents who offer different abilities and play styles. The agents in Valorant are split into four different roles: Duelists, Initiators, Controllers, and Sentinels. Getting to know the agents and their order of release can help to enhance your understanding of the shifting meta and design principles behind the game. 

Here, you will find a complete fellows to of all Valorant agents, from the first characters available in-game to the most recent releases. We have put them in order of release, allowing you to see when agents were introduced to the game.

Valorant Agents in the Beta Version

When Valorant began its closed beta back in April 2020, players were first introduced to ten agents, which created the basis for its carefully crafted strategies. The players were then introduced to a more strategic element with a wide array of agents that had new ways of fighting with the enemies and controlling the map.

Brimstone (Controller)

 A commander from the USA who calls down orbital strikes and smokescreens. He controls the area and is a team player. Everything he does defines an engagement zone or area of control.

Jett (Duelist)

From South Korea, Jett is a hyper-agile duelist. Jett has extreme offensive capabilities and the added mobility to reposition or escape quickly thereafter. Her updraft and dash abilities can make her quite a threat in close areas.

Phoenix (Duelist)

This agent from the UK is about self-sustained and aggressive plays. Phoenix can heal itself with fire abilities and ultimately return to life if it dies.

Sage (Sentinel)

The radiant healer from China is a team support. Not only can Sage slow down enemies and prohibit passage with her wall, but she can resurrect downed teammates as well.

Sova (Initiator)

A highly-skilled archer from Russia, Sova provides essential scouting. His recon bolt and owl drone allow for an understanding of enemy locations, giving a large advantage to his teammates.

Viper (Controller)

The American chemist Viper uses poisonous gas to control space and limit visibility to the enemy. Areas created by Viper’s abilities can deal health to enemies and provide opportunities to take them out safely.

Cypher (Sentinel)

The Moroccan data broker Cypher is an expert at gathering information. Using tripwires and a spy cam, he uses his skills to gather data and lock down areas.

Breach (Initiator)

The Swedish initiator Breach is an aggressive attacker who can quickly stun and disorient his enemies regardless of where they are. He has abilities that focus on seismic moments and allow him to disrupt enemies' defenses and facilitate aggressive entries.

Omen (Controller)

Omen is a shrouded phantom of an unknown origin who contributes versatile options to control space, and can teleport while blind. Omen excels as a specialist in confusion and his ability to create unpredictable plays.

Raze (Duelist)

As the explosive expert of the team from Brazil, she uses heavy utility that creates high-damage explosion chances. Her grenades, once thrown in a tight space, disperse out and clear small compartments, while also forcing enemies into areas that expose themselves to lethal damage.

Post-Launch Additions in Valorant

After Valorant's official release in June 2020, Riot Games kept churning out new agents that added new mechanics and layers of strategy to the game and changed the meta, giving players new tactical options. 

Reyna (Duelist)

Reyna is a Mexican duelist who was released at launch. She is a vampire-like duelist who thrives on getting kills. Her abilities give you the ability to heal, become invulnerable, and even turn invisible after getting kills. 

Killjoy (Sentinel)

Killjoy, a brilliant German inventor, was released in August 2020. She focuses on defensive lockdown scenarios using turrets and alarm bots, with an ultimate that traps enemies in an area. 

Skye (Initiator)

Skye is an Australian agent who joined Riot in October 2020. She does both healing for allies and heavy recon with her guiding light hawk and trailblazer wolf. 

Yoru (Duelist)

Released in January 2021, Yoru is a Japanese duelist who brings a level of deception to the game. He can teleport and create fake footsteps to confuse enemies.

Astra (Controller)

The Astra, a Ghanaian cosmologist, came to Valorant in March 2021. Astra's alien and astral form allows her to place stars anywhere on the map so that she can be activated for smokes, stuns, or gravity wells.

KAY/O (Initiator)

This anti-radiant robot character entered Valorant in June 2021. KAY/O can suppress their enemies' abilities, making it impossible for them to use their powers and which creates tactical opportunities for his team to capitalize on during engagements. 

Chamber (Sentinel)

The weapons designer Chamber hails from France and first made an appearance in Valorant in November 2021. Chamber brings his playstyle of luxury and lethality due to his custom pistol, teleportation, and sniper rifle ultimate. 

Neon (Duelist)

Neon, a duelist from the Philippines, arrived on the scene in January 2022. Neon is a speedster who can create electric walls and instantaneously unleash her electric lightning ultimate that buries enemies alive in fire. 

Fade (Initiator)

The Turkish bounty hunter Fade entered Valorant in April 2022. She uses nightmarish entities to hunt her enemies down, revealing their locations wherever they are hiding, while also inflicting decay. 

Harbor (Controller)

The Controller Harbor is from India, and joined Valorant in October 2022 and adding water-based utility to the game by being able to create cascading walls and protective domes of water. 

Gekko (Initiator)

The cute and cheerful Gekko from Los Angeles joined Valorant in March 2023. He controls a small crew of cute, friendly, and aggressive little creatures who can concuss enemies, blind them, and plant the spike.

Deadlock (Sentinel)

Deadlock strengthened the sentinel roster from Norway in June 2023. She employs nanowire technology to slow, block, and capture an enemy in her Ultimate.

Iso (Duelist)

The Chinese duelist entered the team in October 2023. He has abilities that allow him to create a bullet-blocking shield, and he can challenge enemies to a single duel-or-another in a custom area.

Clove (Controller)

Released in March 2025, Clove is a Scottish controller who has an offensive approach to this role. Clove can self-revive and can deploy smokes even after an elimination.

Vyse (Sentinel)

The latest agent, Vyse, joined the Protocol in August 2024. As a sentinel, Vyse can manipulate its liquid metal, deploy thorn traps, and have flashes to take control of space and to isolate enemies.

Tejo (Initiator)

Tejo was released in January 2025 and became the newest initiator that can further diverge game tactics.

Waylay (Duelist)

A duelist who is now one of the newest agents in the Valorant line of agents.
